Hey there,
How are you? Holy humidity, Batman āĀ it has been a veritable sauna around here in central Texas this week. Kyle works outside a lot and heās been wearing his swim shirt to work mostly because it feels like youāre doing the breaststroke through air⦠itās great. š„µ
In completely different news āĀ weāre currently working on the cover for Bitter & Sweet, the Lenten companion to Shadow & Light, and itās going to be so dadgum beautiful. Again. I canāt wait to show you! The amazing Connie Gabbert has done my last three book covers (and my tattoo) and I basically want her to follow me around and sketch my life.

5 Quick Things āļø
1.Ā We all know weāre supposed to care about the environment āĀ but what does that look like with a sacramental posture? Seth and Tsh admit their own challenges while recognizing the need to do more. After all, the other two Rs are more effective than the third.
2.Ā I like how Alan Jacobs thinks, and this short breakdown of how he reads stuff online without distraction is quite useful (I personally use Pocket).
3.Ā Yes, Iām strangely bringing up Wes Anderson for the second letter in a row, but I guess heās on my mind āĀ thoughts on how to see the world like him.
4.Ā I am very much Team Levar for Jeopardy!.
5.Ā And finally,Ā this idea has seriously been everywhere āĀ everywhere āĀ in my life lately. Iām on week 3 of walking 10k-plus steps every day, and I feel so much better. Plus, I just nodded my way through a chapter in this book about the magic of walking as a form of rest. WALKING IS GREAT is what Iām saying here.

Speaking of the above, this week I asked yāall to share a favorite quote in your arsenal (I love collecting quotes). You guys did not disappoint! And you confirmed, yet again, that youāre my people. š
Also: A little heads up that, in a few weeks when the school year ends, Iāve got a number of things ready to dust off and share with you here in Books & Crannies! Iām genuinely stoked to oil the gears and get her running again (remember The WRLD at Home?). Also⦠Start brainstorming what book idea you want to contribute for our annual Summer Book Club. Eager to read alongside you once again!

Question For You to Ponder⦠š¤
If I did every day what I did yesterday, how would my life look one year from now?
Have a good weekend!

p.s.Ā Have you ever tried mascara like this? Iām genuinely curious āĀ hit reply to this email and tell me your experience. ā¦I think I may give it a go.
As someone who has recently joined and just finished binging all of the previous The WRLD at Home episodes I am VERY excited for more of them so thank you in advance!
I use cake mascara ā it takes a bit of time to get used to, but I really love how it works as both eyeliner and mascara. And it was one more step towards zero-waste-ifying my bathroom cabinet. :)
