I agree about Instagram. I saw what a bad effect it was having on me, and when I was preparing to get married 3 years ago, I got off it (about a month before) and haven't looked back since!
I have zero regrets about getting off Instagram a few years ago. Quit Facebook even before that and the others have never been a draw for me, thankfully. However, YouTube has been a weakness. After the first week of Lent I gave that up, too. I'm afraid I'll be like Frodo and the ring once Lent is over... My one YT allowance is "Cozy living room fireplace on snowy day" as my 2 1/2 yr old grandson calls it, as he settles for his nap with some peaceful music😏. But after reading the Ordinary Animals post, I wonder if I need to let that go, too! Thanks for sharing that article.
The end of the school year is bringing on even more exhaustion for me with all the anti-education and anti-immigrant actions happening all over the country, as well as many others in my community. Balancing the “shoulds” feels much more heavy when it involves what I should do to be looking out for my fellow neighbors and students being targeted by this administration- they are very scared right now. Trying hard to make time for rest and balance so I can show up for my students everyday.
I don't always get to read your posts on the day you publish..but I always make the time, to sit and read and enjoy them. I am on a year long trip with my family and amidst all the changes and new places, I love this little ritual of reading 5 Quick Things, no matter where I am.
Loved the link to the post by Ordinary Animals thanks for sharing!! Great creative ideas for engagement for this grandma ❤️
Yes! Bookmarking it for the future myself one day… 😉

Nice! I really don’t think people realize what a stranglehold certain social media sites have on us… IG really was awful for me.
Re: #4... I sure would love to see your list one day though :)
I agree! I would love to see your list too. But also understandable why you wouldn’t put it out there. Maybe someday?
Love the new poll because that would be a family debate in my home, as well.
Yeah, it was weirdly specific this week. 😉
