Hi Tatum! I have to pipe in with the GF sourdough advice!! You *can* start your own starter, but it's going to take a while to get it to turn over. I've had the most success with using a little bit of buckwheat flour in mine (something about higher protein content etc...) BUT, I really suggest just ordering this one. It takes a couple days to get it going.
I have a whole post on GF sourdough, and have been getting it to work successfully for a few years now! I think it's actually easier than regular, bc the process is a bit more streamlined. And my kids now complain about store bread so I count it successful ;)
Tatum, I enjoyed your 5QT! I appreciated reading about your mini-house living experience. Your parents raised you well as evidenced by your seeing the good in the experience rather that just dwelling on the tiny sink and crowded fridge. As someone who has recently down-sized in housing I need to take a cue from you😊
Tatum, are you having a fair size wedding or a small one? I hope Tsh shares photos next May. What college in Ohio is yours? Loved your semester abroad news shared by you and your mom. I assume your fiance is Catholic too. Yes? Do you have your own Substack? I would like to follow you.
This was so sweet! Love that you did this for your mama. I'm so happy for you and your engagement! I graduated from FUS in 2008 and married a fella who went there too. He has a song about his time in Gaming called "God in Austria"... check it out if you're feeling nostalgic for your time abroad! May the Lord bless you abundantly as you prepare for marriage!
