5 Quick Things #152 🍒

Fruit cobblers, morning routines, folksy sisters, & time is weird

Hey there,

I don’t know about you, but this first full week of August really ramped up my to-do list, which I don’t love but it is what it is. School starts in just a few weeks so I’m in full-on class prep mode, I’ve got an audio project to share with you soon and am currently scripting, and I’m still taking my fiction writing class and want to devote concentrated energy to my homework there. Phew! Pass the coffee. ☕️

Throughout my day, my current audio escape (both from my responsibilities and the punishing heat) is lovely Three Pines, Quebec, where I’m completely engrossed. Have you ever read the Inspector Gamache series? I’m currently on this one — the entire audio version is fantastic.

5 Quick Things ☕️

1. Even for those of us who long for cooler weather, let’s savor summer while it’s still here — here are 6 simple ways to do that.

2. The podcast is back from summer break! I’m kicking off season 2 with a chat with a good friend about a simple-but-necessary habit.

3. Nervous about homeschooling for the first time? My friend (and homeschool vet) Sarah shares 10 homeschooling mistakes she’s made so you can avoid them.

4. Three predictions about how the workforce is about to change dramatically, thanks to the pandemic.

5. Why time feels so weird in 2020.

Quotable 💬

“Contrary to popular belief, productivity isn’t about how much you can do. It’s about whether or not you’re doing the right things—the things that matter to you.”

p.s. This week I found some lovely new-to-me music: Joy & Jo, two sisters in Saskatchewan with a calming folksy vibe. Beautiful.
