Hi friends,
As you know, in a few weeks Kyle and I are leading a group of travelers to Ireland. Most of these folks we've never met in our life, but that was true of last year's pilgrimage to Italy and it ended up the most delightful experience! I'm sure this year will be no different, even though it's an even bigger cohort than the Italy group. 🤯
It's truly my honor to explore, wander, and pilgrimage alongside new friends, pointing out bends in the road, asking a few questions to reflect on throughout the day, and processing all we've seen that evening over a pint in the pub. Several friends know (because I've said for years now) that my ideal vocation, outside of parenting, is to write books and lead pilgrimages. I said this out loud for the first time at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in London, next to Charles Dickens' favorite seat, and it felt wildly risky to admit this dream of mine. How on earth would this ever happen?
Well, all I can say is—God is good, and I sense His winking like the good Father He is anytime I get to gaze in wonder with friends at the art of the world. It's truly my privilege to pack light and hop on a bus to join you in my favorite form of travel: laid-back adventure.
This is why it humbles me to no end that I'm leading several more group trips over the next few years, and each one is “my favorite.” Truly—please mark your calendars for either summer 2024, winter 2025, and/or summer 2025 because I hope to join you somewhere in the world on one of (or all?) of these planned pilgrimages.
I love partnering with the organization I work with because it means a much more affordable trip for you, even with more unique experiences than I could provide, and we get to enjoy it together as like-minded kindred spirits. And I'm announcing next summer 2024's trip to members of The Commonplace first—claim first dibs on your spot below.
