Oh my goodness, this week's poll is amazing! A great little bit of appropriate "busy(town)" fun in the middle...well, I guess not quite yet the middle, as you note...of Lent!
I'm so glad you liked the busyness piece. Thank you for sharing it.
Last year I embraced more phone calls with people I don’t see often instead of quick check in texts, and I started mailing 5 handwritten cards/postcards each week to people to just let them know I was thinking of them. Now, it is an intentional monthly practice.
Krista, I'm curious as to whether many recipients of your cards write back? Sometimes I'm in a mood where I don't care if anyone writes back and I'll fire a bunch of cards off over a few weeks, but at other times it hurts when you write several people and rarely get a note in return. Is this your experience, too?
As of yet, only one person wrote back, a little girl I watched from the time she was 1 till she went off to school. She even made a homemade card and decorated so nicely. That led to her and her brother coming and spending a day with me.
I receive a lot of texts from recipients telling me how it made them smile to get my card.
For the most part, I do it as a monthly fun writing activity and an excuse to pick up postcards and pretty cards from local small businesses shops.
I'm also waging a campaign to get rid of the TV in our house, but my husband is fervently against the plan. He's also not enthused by the projector suggestion, although we've tentatively compromised on a hideaway box of sorts, where the TV could be stored when not in use (and then ideally the inconvenience of bringing it out would help us choose other activities instead of defaulting to television).
My favorite poll yet!
It just came to me this morning over coffee... Possibly my favorite childhood book.
Same!! Loved loved it!

What a lovely way to bless people. And how delightful that it led to a visit with the girl and her brother!
I’m so glad you shared the link to Sarah Mackenzie’s interview! Someone mentioned it and I was looking for it in their podcast feed.
Excited to listen while I do all the chores I’ve been ignoring this afternoon 😆
It's a gem of a conversation! She's so great at what she does.

Maybe we can collaborate and convince our menfolk together? 🤔
