How are you liking "A Canticle for Leibowitz"? Looking for good summer reads for my Well Read Mom group, which we continue through the summer! Currently reading "Under the Mercy," the sequel to "Severe Mercy" (which I'm re-reading and sobbing through). Have a great weekend, Tsh!!
Oh man, I have so many thoughts so far! I’m only a third of the way in (literally; I just finished Part 1 out of 3 this morning), and it’s a wild ride. I really like it so far. Our WRM group is also reading a variety of stuff for the summer; some are doing Kristin Lavrandsdatter, but I just can’t right now (plus, that’s a winter book to me)… My husband (and several of the husbands of other women in my WRM group) are in a book club together (they’ve unofficially named it Average-Read Dad), and they’re reading Canticle next. One of my sons has been BEGGING me to read it for several years now, so I figured now’s the time to finally do it. I hope to get to talk to someone about it at some point! …Maybe I need to infiltrate the next men’s meeting. 😉
Average Read Dad HA! that's incredible. I've started Canticle on audiobook and am really enjoying it so far! Although part one caught my attention much more than part two has so far. Thanks for the recommendation!
My version of not complaining about the weather is to find something to appreciate about each season. I have my favorites but I've re-branded my least favorite as my fourth favorite.
I LOVE renovations that remain faithful to the original architecture. Any chance of sharing a photo? (In way that feels non-instrusive to you.)

Very much the same — part 2 has been a slog (almost done)… my son said the same thing.

“Fourth favorite” — I LOVE that so much. …I’m looking at you, winter. 😉
And I’m open to sharing photos sometime!
Yes, sorry, it IS you, winter.
Hurrah! That would be great!
