I liked hearing about your regular schedule, all the different things you do (writing, homeschooling, teaching, gardening, podcasting, etc), because I feel like such a slacker when I hear all you accomplish. You did not intend this, but you have unofficially become my spiritual director. I decided that after reading today's newsletter. I signed up to write my own rule. I love Fr. Mike. Thank you for sharing the recommendations and links. I can mention: Tsh, and my husband knows I mean YOU. Kinda well-known at my house. And, I was sick throughout the whole Christmas tide holiday so our tree is still up. );

I like the idea of a book bingo card for the year. Reading outside of my favorite genres is a challenging practice for me, too.

Ooo! I love hearing about the minutiae of morning routines, evening routines...really any times involving transition. Maybe because I'm perenially trying to will myself into become a morning person. (I've always tended to be a night owl. Sometimes, here in my 40s, my middle-of-the-night sleep gets truncated by sudden wakefulness and anxiety - yay - and I've also been working on my theories, haha).

We watched ep 1 of the new All Creatures (YAAAS MRS. H), then started re-watching the whole dang series because I needed to keep that comfort feeling rolling. So so good!

Sending love & prayers as you're navigating unexpected things.

That bird video was so amazing! What a blessing to see God's design from that perspective. Can't wait to check out the other links and get a copy of Introduction to the Spiritual Life. Grateful for the time you spend tending to your own soul so you can help tend to your readers' as well. And that quote about January! You find such gems.

May I recommend 'The Awakening of Miss Prim' by Natalia San Martin Fenollera. It is indeed found in the romance section of our local library. It was a delightful surprise.
