I battle with an inner Eeyore as well, and it was like letting out a deep breath to read a post that acknowledges that we can sometimes hold both of these things - melancholy and joy - in equal measure. Or that the melancholy can at least be part of who we are without allowing it to consume our joy. I hope that makes sense.
Gratitude can create an immediate shift in us. When I feel "off" I take a few minutes to write down some things to be grateful for from the last 24 hours, and I get really specific. It's incredibly helpful as humans and creative people.
